There is an excellent choice of restaurants on Koh Phangan, especially in Thongsala and Haad Rin.
Thongsala has traditional Thai seafood restaurants, curry stalls and good quality street food; a multitude of Western restaurants such Italian, English, French and Japanese
and even Vietnamese restaurant. Most are either at the main crossroads (100m up from the round about) or on the seafront, the markets around the 7-11 convenience store have
some of the best street food.

Haad Rin offers the most cosmopolitan mix of restaurants on Koh Phangan, with a vast choice of different tastes all within walking distance of each other. There are beachfront seafood BBQs, Italian, Mexican, Israeli, Scandinavian, Moroccan, Mediterranean, Tapas, Indian and many more varieties as well as traditional Thai restaurants and street stalls. Just wander around the town and head for what you fancy. |
Looking for fresh seafood? Chaloklum village is Koh Phangan's main fishing port and has a wealth of inexpensive
seafood restaurants serving fresh delicacies such as locally caught squid. Most of the restaurants are lined along the seafront, overlooking the pier and fishing boats, where
you can watch the daily catch being bought in.
Not to be missed, there are a cluster of traditional seafood restaurants around the port at Baan Tai, several funky bars, coffee shops and a fresh bakery all within easy walking distance. |
